Villa Morning “Villa Morning” holds special meaning for me because I was inspired to paint it on the first morning of the first trip my wife and I took to Italy. We stayed in the “Villa Cipriani” which is located in the romantic, hillside village of Asolo -- about 40 miles north of Venice, Italy. We heard that the Villa Cipriani was once a private villa that was converted into one of the most romantic villas in Italy. We were not disappointed. We sipped Campari-sodas (the Italian national drink) on the flower-decked patio under the archway, savoring the timeless elegance of the villa’s Italian architecture and the incredible spectacle of the surrounding hills. I have painted this villa many times in many different lights and moods, but none strike a chord of emotion in me more than “Villa Morning.”
